The Johnson's followed God's call to Guatemala in August of 2008.  As they worked and lived among the people of Magdalena and Buena Vista, the depth of many things in the village came to light. Since then, they began praying for God to begin a ministry to the boys, allowing them to address these deep generational issues while young. Eventually, God began to shape a vision that would soon become the Buena Vista Sports Academy for Boys.  After 10 years in Guatemala, and planting another academy in Honduras, they left to help plant a ministry in West Africa.  They are now pressing into another region of Guatemala, called Quiche.  Please pray with them for BVSA-Quiche!

Before the mission field, Brock's background was in the business side of professional sports, both as an NFL executive and a sports agent, which admittedly almost ruined him.  He feels blessed to have been rescued by Jesus, and now be coaching and discipling boys who are far from the hoopla of professional sports.

The Johnsons oversee the ministry of BVSA, including day-to-day operations, training new missionaries, and pioneering new academy plants. But their hearts are in the mission field, where they prefer to be living simply, sharing the gospel, and teaching the Bible to a room full of boys. 

Brock and Kerrie have four children and three grandchildren.  Madi is married to Todd Spires, with daughters Emerson and Ella.  Brooke is married to Matt Rolfe, with son James.  Jake is a senior at Cedarville University, playing soccer and studying Kinesiology.  And Luciana Andrea (10) keeps us on our toes 24/7!
